🙏 Prayer from Psalm 5 – A Morning Prayer (Explanation)

Psalm 5 is the morning prayer that we must pray each day towards God. Communication is the strongest weapon for a relationship, and the morning is the ideal time to do it, because our minds are free of problems and we can entrust it with protection for the rest of the day.

David shows his dependence on God every morning, and highlights how prayer is the method to talk personally with him.

Hear, O Jehovah, my words;
Consider my regret.

Heed the voice of my cry, my King and my God,
because I will pray to you.

O Jehovah, in the morning you will hear my voice;
tomorrow I will appear before you and wait.

Because you are not a God who takes pleasure in evil;
evil will not dwell with you.

The foolish will not be before your eyes;
you hate all workers of iniquity.

You will destroy those who speak lies;
the bloodthirsty and deceitful man will be abominated by Jehovah.

But I, by the abundance of your mercy, will enter your house;
with reverence I will adore towards your holy temple.

Guide me, O Jehovah, in your righteousness, because of my enemies;
make straight before me your way.

Because there is no sincerity in their mouths;
its bowels are full of destruction;
open grave is his throat;
with their tongue they flatter.

Condemn them, O God;
let them fall by their own advice.
Cast them out because of the multitude of their transgressions,
because they rebelled against you.

But let all those who trust in you rejoice;
give voices of joy forever, because you defend them;
and let those who love your name rejoice in you.

For you, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
you will surround him with benevolence as with a shield.
