.- Nearly 30 percent of Venezuelan children have been victims of sexual harassment on social networks, according to information technology engineer Ray Díaz informed La Mañana.
Díaz said that according to Facebook statistics, this social network and YouTube are the main platforms used by stalkers.
Many of the children in Venezuela have already received inappropriate content, have already had a connection with false profiles and have even viewed inappropriate videos.
Díaz assured that young people are vulnerable to harassment on the networks because they do not have parental control devices or similar tools.
He also assured that abuse through social networks is something real and must be addressed with the importance of the case, since children are at risk.
The computer engineer said that the modus operandi varies on different social media platforms. On Facebook, thugs use the creation of false profiles with faces and content of very attractive or nice people, attracting children and seeking to contact them.
While on YouTube, predators post controlled content with double meanings, allowing children to react and seek entertainment.
Díaz said that it is up to the relatives to supervise and gain the trust of their children to prevent possible abuse in time. He also indicated that actions such as talking and reviewing the browsing history of minors are necessary.
