CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- Almost all adolescents at a given moment feel that they are trapped in their tension, questions and doubts. But there is no reason to despair because they are in good company. All of God’s people have felt the same way at times throughout their journey on earth.
Even those recorded in the Bible whom God used to fulfill his purposes. God helped them overcome all their problems. And He can help you through yours, too, reports Closswalk.
1. Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1)
The Lord came to Jeremiah and told him that before he was born, God had set him apart to be a prophet to the nations. It probably seemed like an enormous task to Jeremiah, because he immediately thought he was too young.
The Lord rebuked him. Too young is not a term for God not to use. You should not be afraid of people’s reactions because God himself will be with you and will protect you. God gave him the strength to continue in his calling.
2. David (1 Samuel 16)
David was the youngest of all his brothers. His own father passed him by when the prophet Samuel came looking for candidates to be the next leader of the country. All of David’s brothers were brought before Samuel.
God said no to all of them, so Samuel asked if there were any more children. The father reluctantly said that the only one left was the youngest. Samuel asked to see him. When David was brought in, the Lord told Samuel that he was the one.
God does not see the way we see. We see features and physiques that look nice. God sees the true beauty of character and potential. You are not insignificant in the eyes of God. He will find you and work with you just as you are.
3. Joshua ( Joshua 1 )
Joshua had always learned from Moses and may have felt insecure when God wanted him to take the reins to lead the Israelites. He may have felt that he could not fill the giant shoes of Moses. He may have wanted to back off and say no.
But God came to him and told him that he would be with him just as he had been with Moses. Joshua would lead the rest of the Israelites to the promised land without Moses there to help. God’s assurance helped Joshua enter the promised land, something Moses was not allowed to do.
4. Anne (1 Samuel 1)
Ana and Penina were Elcana’s wives. Penina made fun of Ana because Penina had children and Ana had none. Year after year, Penina bullied Ana because she became very depressed.
But Ana did not stay in her depression. She took all her sad feelings to God in prayer. She took her tears to God and poured out her heart. God showed compassion for her and in a short time gave her a son. God’s ransom was her revenge against her enemy. She let the Lord judge the evil deeds of her enemy.
In a bullying situation, pray for help, but also seek help from people when needed. You need to get away from the situation as best you can and let God take care of the rest.
5. Mary (Luke 1)
As a teenager, God gave Mary an impossible task. At least to a young woman it would seem impossible. She had to tell her fiancé that she was pregnant, hoping he wouldn’t leave her.
But God helped her by sending an angel to speak to Joseph, so she learned the truth and stayed with Mary. She then had to deal with the townspeople around her thinking that she was immoral.
In the end, Maria knew that God was with her and that was enough. He would help her get through the impossible situations. So, she was willing to serve him.
6. Jose (Genesis 37-50)
Then there was Jose. He had a dream, and that dream was given to him by God. He boasted to his brothers of this dream that he made his brothers envious and angry at him. They sold him into slavery and took him away from his family. His anger and his actions were not Joseph’s fault, but he had to deal with the consequences.
Later he was in slavery, but found favor with Potiphar. God helped Joseph to succeed despite the circumstances that got him there. He went from slave to executive assistant.
conclusion
God is in control of everything that happens in your life. Your current situation is not your last trip. It’s just a part. You may not understand every point along the way, but with God guiding you, you can trust that at the end of the journey it will be wonderful. It will do more things than you can imagine.
The most important thing to remember in life is that God is with you and is a wonderful source of help. His cross will cover your sin and his resurrection will continue to give you hope. Keep looking at it.
