a rock on the road

a rock on the road

We don’t know the opportunity until it passes us by and we let it go.

A long time ago, in a distant country, a very wise king placed a large rock blocking a path.

He then hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock.

Some of the country’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers who traversed that path daily simply circled around the rock as many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything to move the large stone out of the way. .

But it was then that a poor peasant carrying a heavy load passed by. Approaching the rock, the peasant placed his merchandise on the ground and tried to move the rock to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he succeeded.

As he was picking up his load of vegetables, he noticed a bag right where the rock had been. It contained many gold coins and a note from the king himself indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the stone from the road.

the peasant lernt what others never understood.

Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve one’s condition. I suggest that each day you entrust yourself to the Holy Spirit to help you face the obstacles in your life in the most appropriate way, and to help you in the actions and decisions of each day.
