ACT OF CONSECRATION TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN OF THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL
Oh Most Holy Virgin, Mother of God and Mother of men and women: Queen and defender of our HOLY VIRGIN OF THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL!
We come here to “CONSECRATE OURSELVES TO YOU BEFORE THIS ALTAR AND YOUR CHOSEN IMAGE”, and offer you the homage of our life and our love; to congratulate you, as your children, for the incomparable privileges with which God adorned you from the first moment of your immaculate conception, and to rejoice with you for the sublime glory that you now enjoy in heaven.
One happy day, amazed at the goodness of God who had just made you his Mother, you said those words of divine inspiration: <
We now want to fulfill our part in this triumphant prophecy, and we proclaim your glories and bless you for them with all the fervor of our hearts in love with your beauty and holiness.
Blessed be, Holy Mary, for your Immaculate Conception and for your Divine Maternity; for your holiness and for your power as universal mediator; for your pity and your mercy.
You never forget that you have been lifted up to the throne of God, not only for your glory, but also for our salvation; do not forget that God has taken you to heaven body and soul, so that you intercede better for us, poor sinners.
Full of confidence in your power and in your goodness, and knowing that, as a good Mother, you hear the prayers of your sons and daughters, we beg you with all the fervor of our hearts, not to leave us out of your hand, because, if you leave us, we will be lost forever.
Do not abandon us and give us strength, Holy Mother of God!
To fight against the bad inclinations of our nature, wounded by sin.
To tame dangerous looks, and to prevent daring conversations.
To separate us from companies that lead us to sin; to resolutely fulfill our duties of work and study.
To be good and loyal to those with whom we live and friends, charitable and attentive to the poor and the sick, constant and devoted in receiving the sacraments of Confession and Communion.
Give us strength to fight and win;
O heavenly winner of all the battles of God!
And grant us that those of us who have gathered before You today to give you our whole being through this consecration, sing your praises and ask for your protection, may one day gather in the glory of paradise to offer with you our love to your Son and Lord Jesus Christ. who with the Father and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns forever and ever.
The anchor of salvation that the Blessed Virgin holds out to us and now for our sanctification and subsequent happiness in heaven, is:
First
The daily and devoted prayer of the Holy Rosary.
Second
The personal and sincere consecration of our entire being to the Immaculate Heart of the Most Holy Virgin.
Third
Wear the medal of the Most Holy Miraculous Virgin, as an external sign of consecration.
If we fulfill it as the Blessed Virgin requests and wishes, the final success of good over evil is assured.
Our Lady, who never fails to keep her promises, has promised it with these prophetic words:
“IN THE END, MY IMMACULATE HEART WILL TRIUMPH.”
THE CONSECRATION TO THE HOLY VIRGIN
MARA, IN THE HISTORY OF THE CHURCH
The total surrender of people through consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary has been a pious practice, used since ancient times in the Church.
San Buenaventura, San Bernardo, Santa Matilde, San Bernardino de Sena, and others were consecrated…
In 1647, Saint John Eudes consecrated himself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, along with his religious.
In 1700, it was Saint Louis Mary Grignin de Montfort who did the same: adding to the consecration that of slave of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
THE BLESSED VIRGIN REQUESTS THE CONSECRATION TO HER IMMACULATE CUP
It seems that this devotion had practically decayed in the Church from its primitive fervour.
On July 13, 1917, it was the Blessed Virgin herself who, in an apparition to three shepherd children in Fatima (Portugal), told them, among other things, that in order to save the souls of sinners, the Lord wanted to establish in the world the devotion to God. her Immaculate Heart: promising the conversion of Russia and world peace, through consecration to her Immaculate Heart.
That he would come back to say how it had to be done.
In the month of June 1929, in the chapel of the Dorotheas nuns of Tuy (Pontevedra), the Virgin again appears to Sister Luca at the foot of a harrowing vision, and tells her: “THE TIME HAS ARRIVED THAT GOD REQUESTED THE HOLY FATHER THAT IN UNION WITH ALL THE BISHOPS OF THE WORLD MAKE THE CONSECRATION OF RUSSIA IN PARTICULAR, AND OF THE WORLD IN GENERAL, TO MY IMMACULATE HEART, PROMISING TO SAVE THEM BY THIS MEANS.”
In 1984, Pope John Paul II, together with all the bishops of the world, made this consecration in Saint Peter’s Square in Rome, in front of the image of the Virgin of Fatima, brought from her Sanctuary in Portugal for this act. exclusively.
