– Willie Spence, who was runner-up in last year’s season of “American Idol”, died this Tuesday (11), in a fateful car crash.
Just hours before the accident, the 23-year-old, posted a video, on his Instagram account, singing a worship songand the title of the post reads, “Lord, you are my hiding place,” reports ENews.
The “American Idol” alum Katherine McPhee, who shared with him, on the 2006 showconfirmed Spencer’s death in a post on his Instagram account.
“I received some very tragic news tonight. Willie Spence died in a car accident. Only 23 years old. life is so unfair, and nothing is ever promised. God rest your soul Willie. It was a pleasure singing with you and getting to know you,” McPhee said.
Recorded a praise video
The “Had It All” singer also directed her followers to Spence’s own Instagram account, where just hours before the fatal accident, the young singer, he posted a video of himself, singing a praise song.
Spence recorded the video in his car, apparently hours before the tragic accident occurred.
In addition to McPhee, “American Idol” producer Randall Emmett has spoken out about Spence’s death. “I was lucky that he sang for me live at my houseand at other events,” he wrote according to TMZ.
