Analysis of the Our Father
Analysis of the Our Father
Do not tell Dadif every day you don’t behave like a son.
Do not tell ourif you live isolated in your selfishness.
don’t say that You are in heavenif you only think about earthly things.
Do not tell Hallowed be thy nameif you don’t honor it.
Do not tell let your kingdom comeif you confuse it with material success.
Do not tell Thy will be doneif you don’t accept it when it’s painful.
Do not tell Give us today our daily breadif having it yourself, you don’t worry about people without housing, without means,….
Do not tell forgive our offensesif you hold a grudge against your brother.
Do not tell Do not let us fall into temptationif you intend to continue sinning.
Do not tell deliver us from evilif you do not take an active part against evil.
Do not tell Amenif you have not taken seriously the words of the Our Father.
Is it the echo of my voice or is it His voice?
If it wakes me up and takes me out of mediocrity, if it compromises and complicates my life, but fills it up and gives meaning…, it is the voice of God.
If it makes me leave my land, my small island or sea and launches me into the whole world…, it is the voice of God.
If it invites me to be profoundly happy and to make others happy… if it speaks the language of trust, from the Father to his son…, it is the voice of God.
If it doesn’t take me out of this world, but makes me be in it like yeast, salt, light…, it’s the voice of God.
If it has nothing to do with television commercials, if it is not to make me more famous, it will not give me more money and power, nor what it offers me can be stolen by thieves, nor eaten by moths, nor devalue the falls of the bag…, it is the voice of God.
If it’s like an evangelical echo, if in prayer I can’t get it out of my mind…, it’s the voice of God.
If my community and my group also feel and see it that way; if every time I am happier following the call…, it is the voice of God.
