CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- A new episode featuring the beloved Peanuts characters on Apple TV Plus breaks new ground by including a message about LGBT families.
The episode, Snoopy Presents: To Mom (And Dad), With Love, will premiere on May 6, two days before Mother’s Day, and highlights Peppermint Patty’s grief over the holidays. Because Peppermint Patty was raised by her father, she never celebrates it.
“My dad does all the mommy stuff for me,” Peppermint Patty tells her friend Marcie. Finally, she asks Marcie, “There are all kinds of moms, right?” Christian Headlines reports.
“Of course,” Marcie replies. “Foster children have fabulous mothers. Also adopted children. Some kids even have two moms.”
Peppermint Patty is excited by the news. “Even kids like me, without a mom, can have someone act like a mom. All moms deserve to be celebrated, don’t you think?” she said.
For this reason, Peppermint Patty decides to celebrate her father for Mother’s Day.
Apple TV Plus unveiled the trailer on April 29. A press release calls the episode a “sweet Mother’s Day celebration of friendship and family with the beloved Peanuts gang.”
Although Peppermint Patty’s decision to celebrate her father on Mother’s Day excites her, she is disheartened when she can’t find a Mother’s Day card honoring the parents. So she improvises.
“I know how to celebrate Mother’s Day!” he tells Marcie. «Tomorrow, I will spend the whole day with my dad. We will play and talk to each other. And I’ll make him laugh, and he’ll make me laugh. And together, we will share the greatest. never laugh.”
