CHRISTIANNEWS.COM- In his book Is the End Near?, the Egyptian-American pastor, Michael Youssef, asked himself this question, about the end of timewhich haunts many Christians, every time they observe chaotic events.
In this same sense, the pastor said that, instead of speculating, the best that can be done, it is to trust what Jesus has already said on this subject.
According to Faithwire, the writer said that when asked about the end times, the disciples listened to Jesus talk about the first and second coming.
“Jesus examined two specific events in Matthew 24 and 25: the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70, and the end of days,” Youssef said, explaining that he always, “clings to the Word of God”, instead of his opinionwhen discussing such matters.
“There are preachers going through deconstruction”
Youssef mentions that, When speaking of the end time, Jesus used a “pregnant woman”as symbology.
“Jesus mentioned, the “pregnancy pain”, who have always been with us; but when you realize that the pain is getting closer, you know that the moment of happiness is comingand you know that the baby is about to be born, ”he said.
The pastor also remembers, that Jesus left signs, to tell his followers, that one day he will return. Among the signs, he spoke of apostasy, which Youssef points out, is the massive abandonment of the faith, which is currently taking place, under the umbrella of the so-called deconstruction movement.
“I’m talking about people in the church. How many times do we hear preachers and singers speaking, who are going through deconstruction? they are drifting away from the faith, and this is happening all over the worldin Europe, and everywhere”, he emphasized.
The arrival of the Antichrist
When talking about the arrival of the Antichrist, Youssef said that he is a figure that receives a lot of attention, in eschatological circles; nevertheless, many think it will be someone similar to Adolf Hitleror some other evil leader.
“That assessment could be totally wrong,” according to the pastor. “It’s going to be lovely. It will be so attractivethat people will say: “Wow, we want to follow this guy”, and they will blindly follow“, he pointed.
And finally he sent a message, to all Christians: “No matter what, stay in the faith, especially in this time of so much false preaching. Believers must stay strong, and look up.” He concluded.
