CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- Satanists sued the state of Arkansas to request a permit to erect a satanic statue near a sculpture of the 10 commandments, reports The financial.
The state of Arkansas allowed the Bible sculpture to be erected, and Satanists demand equality so they can do the same.
The satanic church that is suing has the name of The Satanic Temple and congregates about 300 thousand people.
The Satanic Temple has also sued seven states in the country demanding freedoms in the squares, however, the Christians assure that it is an attempt to run over Christianity.
The founder of this satanic church, Lucien Greaves, assures that he hopes that the lawsuits will broaden respect for religious freedoms.
“People laugh when they see us fighting to put up a satanic monument on the same grounds as the Ten Commandments, but whether we succeed or fail is no small matter,” Greaves said.
The Satanic Temple is a religious group that does not believe in the existence of God and honors the Satan described in the Christian Bible; while the statue they are trying to place is a Baphomet that is a combination between a human and a goat.
