.- Sara, a baby just eight days old, began to vomit in spurts and her skin turned purple, so María Cirilo, her mother, immediately transferred her to the Santa Cruz hospital (Brazil ).
The doctors discovered that Sara had a rare disease, a serious congenital heart condition, so they told her parents that they had to undergo an operation but that they could not guarantee the survival of the baby.
“We are Christians and we began to ask all the churches to make a prayer chain for the life of Sara Lis. Even people who didn’t know her, from other cities, in Ceará and São Paulo, there were many people praying,” said Maria.
“Since she was a baby, they couldn’t do the corrective surgery, because it was a very long surgery, so they studied the case and decided to do a palliative surgery and then they would do the corrective surgery again, because they wanted her to grow a little,” said the mother.
“He clung to his faith”
When the little girl finally underwent corrective surgery, the mother remembers that she clung to her faith and knelt at the door of the operating room.
“I stood at the door of the surgical center on my knees praying, crying out to God to give me the opportunity to see her smiling, happy and raise her, because a mother’s desire is to raise her children, to see them alive and healthy. My gratitude to God is enormous, because Sara Lis is a miracle, for everything that has happened, we always say ‘Sara Lis is our princess, beautiful and warrior,’ she said.
The baby was able to survive the two operations, thanks to the prayer chain in which her family and friends joined. All interceding for Sara’s life.
Currently, the minor is in the Associação Amigos do Coração (Amico) for the postoperative period.
The mother always remembers the Bible verse Isaiah 26.4, which helped her overcome the difficult moments she had to go through with her daughter.
“Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord the Lord is the strength of the centuries” (Isaiah 26,4).
