. – Anne Graham Lotz, the daughter of the late evangelist Billy Graham, told a gathering of conservative Christians that we must look to God and remember that He is the ultimate authority, even in what she perceives as a “crisis” in America.
The founder and author of AnGeL Ministries was one of the featured speakers during the Family Research Council’s (caunsol) Pray Vote Stand Summit (Sommet) held at First Baptist Atlanta.
The summit addressed the defense of life issue, after the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, in June of this year.
Anne Graham Lotz quoted the Bible and compared the United States to the nation of Judah, which, despite its decades of prosperity, forgot to thank God for its blessings. This caused the Lord to exalt the prophet Isaiah, who condemned the members of the nation for their sins, according to Isaiah 5:8.
She told a story about a present from her mother, Ruth Graham, that she had thrown away because she didn’t like the way it was wrapped, and linked this to what she fears is happening in the US today. Lotz later learned that the tissue paper contained a gold ring that was part of the pavement of the palace where Queen Esther lived.
“I had thrown away a priceless treasure because I didn’t like how it was wrapped,” he said.
“Are we in danger of zeroing in on the brown paper wrapper and packages that appear and missing the treasure inside?” he asked him, noting that across the country, “we are under attack.”
“Has there ever been a time like this where a brown package appears at every level, every angle, every place? It’s amazing what’s happening in this state, in our nation, in our world, and hopefully in your own life,” he added.
Lotz believes that the sins Isaiah listed are still relevant to today’s society, which condones such actions as abortion, premarital sex, and rejects traditional marriage.
“A nation that, in a way, like Judah, we are a covenant nation dedicated to the glory of God by President George Washington when he first took office, and we have rejected God. We have drifted away from Him,” he said.
“And we’ve had over 52 years of relative peace and prosperity, but instead of using that time to draw closer to Him, to live our national life in gratitude for His blessings, recognizing that all blessings come from Him, we have drifted away. of the”.
She believes the nation is in “crisis.” Lotz stated that the most appropriate response in such situations is to follow the example of the prophet by looking to God and asking what he wants.
“And I think we need, as a Church, people who call themselves by the name of God, we need a fresh vision of Jesus,” he said.
She said that in Isaiah’s vision of the Lord, the prophet saw him sitting on a throne.
God is in control
Lotz asked the audience what had made them doubt that God is in control, pointing to testimonials given by other speakers on topics including life and family values.
“Are you personally doubting that Jesus is in control when your son comes home from school and says he has transitioned to a different gender?” she asked. “You say, ‘Jesus, are you serious? Are you on the throne?’”
In an election year like 2022, Lotz says many people are running for public office. But regardless of whether a politician holds statewide office or lives in the White House, “Jesus is above all.”
“When we pray, we must remember that we are appealing to the highest authority that exists in the universe,” he said. “One who is in charge, one who gives us his attention. And not only was he high, he was exalted ».
Lotz concluded with a prayer, calling for a “revival” in everyone’s life and in the nation, Christian Post.
