Bolsonaro and Lula exchange blows in debate prior to the second round of elections

– This Sunday, the leftist candidate, Luiz Inácion Lula da Silva, exchanged blows with the current president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, in a televised debate, prior to the second round of the presidential electionsfrom October 30.

According to CNN, Lula criticized Bolsonaro’s handling of the covid 19 pandemic, while both candidates accused each other of corruption, in the first presidential debate, of the second round, which was broadcast by Bandeirantes Television.

“You delayed the vaccine, and The concrete fact is that his negligence caused the death of 680,000 people, when more than half could have been saved.”Lula told Bolsonaro.

He also told him, “In the history of any government in the world, there is no one who has played with the pandemic, and with death, as you did”he continued.

Bolsonaro’s response

In response, Bolsonaro denied the accusations and said that Lula was lying. He added that initially, he did not buy vaccines, in an effort to prevent corruption.

“There was no corruption, because there was no vaccine in Brazil; then, Mr. Lula, stop lying, it’s bad even for your age”Bolsonaro said.

To which Lula replied: “You are the king of fake news, you are the king of stupidity, of lies in Brazilian society. He lied all the time about the vaccine, he neglected the vaccine.”

Corruption issue

Bolsonaro accused Lula and his Workers’ Party (PT) of having ties to organized crime in the country. In response, Lula also said that Bolsonaro had ties to people related towith organized crime.

In the latest Datafolha survey, published on Friday, it shows Lula, in the lead, with the 53% of the intention of the votes, in the second round, while Bolsonaro is in second place, with 47% of the votes
