Without parents, he set out on his way to an unknown world, head down and on some occasions, without strength, he went to work from a very young age, which allowed him to raise a little money to survive.

One day while at work, he came to know God through the persistence of his co-worker, who never stopped urging him to visit church.

Imprisonment

Avellaneda comments that she withdrew from the church after she asked the pastor for financial help to support a sister with limited resources, who also visited the church.

After seeing the pastor’s refusal, he decided to put aside the ways of the Lord and plunged his life into vices.

Over the years, he started his own family, however, the mother of his son sued him for alimony, which resulted in an arrest warrant for breach of the law.

While in jail, Avellaneda did not understand why God had allowed him to live that unpleasant experience. But, he plucked up the courage and started working inside the prison.

“While I was in jail, God always took care of me. He touched the hearts of the prisoners and they took care of me, “said the evangelist.

Release

One day in the midst of so much pain and suffering being locked up in jail. Avellaneda prayed to the Lord and said: “God, today I want you to talk to me.”

At that moment, he opened his Bible and found the book of Saint Luke 24:1-5, where the Lord ministered to him that he was alive accompanying him in the cell.

«My spiritual eyes were opened. I felt like God was with me in prison,” Victor said.

Subsequently, he reconciled with God and put aside his vices.

It was a Thursday afternoon, when Avellaneda was called by a prison policeman, to deliver a letter from the judge who had denied his appeals three times.

After two and a half years of being in prison, the day of his freedom had arrived. Victor Avellaneda left prison and thanked God for his miracle.

«It was worth it to have been in jail. I found God and I promised him that I would serve him,” explained the evangelist.

Book

Avellaneda is certain that his experience in jail was God’s plan and hopes that through his book, people around the world will recognize that the Lord is alive.

“I did not write that book. The main author is the Lord Jesus Christ,” Victor said.
