GUATEMALA. – Cash Luna, pastor of Casa de Dios has responded through a statement repudiating the false news that El Periódico de Guatemala has published after the report by the television network Univisión in a special edition of the program Aquí y Ahora which he titled: “Magnates of God”.
The investigative report was published this Sunday (2) and in it they assure that Cash Luna supposedly has ties to Marllory Chacón, sentenced in the United States to 12 years in prison for drug trafficking.
In the audiovisual investigation, the testimony of a pilot who infiltrated the Chacón drug business appears and makes a very serious accusation against Cash Luna he knew, stating that the pastor knew of Chacón’s illegal activities.
“The pilot clarified that Luna did not interfere in drug trafficking matters but that the pastor knew very well what business his friend Chacón was in and received money from her,” the report states.
The pilot is the Colombian Jorge Mauricio Herrera, accused of having ties to a powerful drug cartel in his country but who has not faced any judicial accusation. Herrera assured Univisión that he infiltrated Chacón’s organization on instructions from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
Herrera points out that he witnessed the first meeting between Chacón and Luna in 2010 and explains that he recorded the meetings with a camera that the DEA installed on a button on his shirt.
“Basically they were talking about money deliveries because Pastor Cash Luna said that they needed to start building and move forward because the work was in bases,” Herrera told Reyes, adding “the guy (Luna), believe me he was the right hand Marllory’s…he was Marllory’s adviser. He is a man, for me, manipulative ”.
A person close to the Chacón family, who asked not to be identified, told Univision that he brought cash to Luna’s house on Chacón’s orders.
With images captured by a drone, Univisión was able to verify that Luna shared the entrance to his house with Chacón, located on the highway to El Salvador. Aerial photographs show that this area is only populated by two residences, that of the pastor and that of the woman convicted in the US for cocaine trafficking.

“We regret that news based on information without objectivity, from sources without veracity, intends to harm the work that the Christian church carries out in favor of unity, peace and the development of Guatemalan society,” the statement quoted from its official Facebook account.
“Thanks to the work of our pastors and your contribution, we are a church that helps others through various institutions that receive monthly support from the Food Bank,” said Casa de Dios.
Casa de Dios also said that it is up to date with the payment of its taxes and that they are inspected by the Special Verification Intendancy (IVE).
“We repudiate the false news published in El Periódico and the Univisión network, which dare to transmit a report with false witnesses; one of them remains anonymous and the other, according to the publication, was captured and deported by the US authorities.
“We support and believe in the leadership of Pastor Cash Luna, who at the helm of this ministry has been known for loving Guatemala and for bringing a message of hope, faith, and unity to all. We pray that justice and truth will prevail.”
Second statement
In a second statement, Pastor Cash Luna said that he rejects the publication by Univisión and “badly replicated by El Periódico”, referring to his 22 years at the head of the church.
“This report that aims to attack our values and principles at levels never seen before. I am respectful of the law. It has always complied with the regulations and obligations to which I am subject, ”he stressed.
