CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- The student of “One Tree Hill”, chad michael murrayread the Bible and devotionals every morning, actions that he says are similar to putting on a “spiritual armor”
“I get up every day and put on that spiritual armor and read the Bible and do some devotionals and then get ready to go to work,” the actor told Fox News.
Murray, 40, seems to be referring here to the commandments seen in Ephesians 6:10-12 (NIV), which encourage Christians to stay close to the Lord in order to ward off evil.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can stand firm against the wiles of the devil. Because our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places.
He also revealed that he has turned down roles due to his Christian beliefs.
“I stand by the things that I believe in,” Murray told Fox News. “Let’s say a piece of material sits on my desk, which has happened many times in the last 22 years, that I don’t necessarily feel like is what I believe or what I’m selling, so that’s not for me. I don’t want to intervene in something I don’t believe in in any way, because it will destroy it for everyone else involved.”
This is not the first time Murray has spoken about his Christian faith. He told Fox News in 2020 how he, his wife and his two young children read the Bible every day and attend church.
“We teach the kids about Jesus and who Jesus was and the story, and we go to church on Sundays,” she said.
Murray also discussed the importance of teaching children a “good moral compass” and pointed out that “to have the fear of God is vital”. It seems that Murray is yet another individual in Hollywood who is increasingly turning his attention to the Lord.
As CBN News reported, the “star of The Wonder Years” Danica McKellar he also recently shared his newfound love for God.
“I am experiencing a relationship with God and Jesus that I have never had before, and it feels miraculous,” he recently proclaimed during an Instagram Live.
And in January, the singer and actress Jana Kramer, Murray’s former “One Tree Hill” castmate, was baptized. She offered a moving proclamation on her Instagram page that she had found “healing” in Jesus and now realizes that she “was never alone.”
