Christian actor Jason David Frank to be part of new ‘Power Rangers’ movie

Frank starred in the original 1990s Power Rangers movie as the Green/White Power Ranger. Christian Today reports that he will also make an appearance in the upcoming remake.

The new movie has been mired in some controversy, especially within the Christian community after it was revealed that the Yellow Power Ranger would have a lesbian role.

“For Trini (the Yellow Power Ranger), she’s really questioning a lot about who she is,” the film’s director, Dean Israelite, told The Hollywood Reporter. She still hasn’t figured it out. I think what’s great in that scene and what that scene drives for the rest of the movie: ‘Okay.’ The movie says, ‘Okay,’ and all the kids have to own who they are and find their tribe.”

Frank’s appearance in the film may give Christians more of a reason to watch him, however. He is outspoken about his faith and recently shared with CBN News about his faith journey and how it really started after his brother passed away and he was dealing with grief.

“I didn’t really understand what the whole church was about,” he admitted. “So when I lost my brother, it was like people told me I need God and all that stuff, and I was like, ‘If one more person tells me that, then that’s what it is.'”

He began attending the Crosby church in Texas at the invitation of his wife. He was really attracted to him because the pastor was an athlete, just like Frank himself. “I’m from Los Angeles, so this church is like cowboy boots.

Pastor Keenan is different and I was instantly drawn to his character,” Frank said. “I like this guy, we fight, we fight and he used it to attract people to church.”

Now Frank uses his own platform to share the Good News with people: “I reach five million people in a week through Facebook and Instagram, and I’m just blessed to do that,” he said.
