CHRISTIANNOTICE.COM.- The International Mission Board (IMB) reported on Thursday, May 13, that in 2020 there was a growth in missionary activities compared to the previous year.
The Baptist organization assured that the international missions evangelized 769 thousand 494 people, while in 2019 the gospel reached 535 thousand 325 individuals through the missions, reports the IMB
This report revealed another piece of good news for Christians, as the number of people who accepted the Lord in the midst of IMB missions also increased.
In 2019, 89,325 people converted to Christianity through missions. In 2020, the number of new Christians recruited by the missions was 144,322.
IBM President Paul Chitwood said he believed the effectiveness of missionary activities would be diminished by the pandemic.
“Jesus spoke directly to me when he said, ‘O man of little faith,’ because he was wrong. What we saw in our work around the world in 2020 was not a downturn, but an acceleration,” said Chitwood.
The report also indicated that of the 2020 missions, 18,380 new churches were created, 86,587 people were baptized, 127,155 were trained as leaders, and there were some 3,552 missions.
The IMB has set out to send 500 new missionaries to the world by 2025, reach 75 new cities and find more funding to expand missions.
