Church allows gay couple to baptize “their children”

– A same-sex couple, named Jhonathan Wiliantan da Silva, and Daniel Rocha Braz, from Rio Claro in the interior of Sao Paulo, fulfilled the dream, to baptize “to his five children”, last Sunday, August 21.

In a ceremony, held by Father Jocelir, at the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Caravaggio, in Rio Claro, they made the decision, not to separate the 5 brothersDouglas, Wendel, Harry, Yarah, and Joao, reports Fuxico Gospel.

“It was very beautiful, and emotional for both of us. Seeing children being evangelized, and receiving one of the most important sacraments of the church, was priceless, but not only for that, but also, for the fact that he was Father Jocelir, who already knew my storysince I was a teenager,” said Jhonatan.

Jhonatan Wiliantan da Silva, 28, told the So Noticia Boa website that he did not think about becoming a father before joining the nurse, Daniel Rocha Braz, also a few years old.

“It was a moment where I really lost ground with so much emotion. The Catholic Church received us very well, and they even listened to our whole story, without any question about our sexual orientation”, he added.

The five children were removed from the parents’ care due to negligence. They are children of a distant cousin of Jonathan. The youngest is Joao Miguel, 1 year and 6 months old, followed by Lara, 3 years old, Harry, 4, Wendel, 6, and Douglas (the oldest), 11 years old.
