Prayer before Communion

Commune

This prayer can serve to calm you down and prepare you body and soul to receive the sacred union you make with Christ.

my lord jesus christ
now that I prepare for my wonderful union with you
I come before you free from mortal sin
aware of your real and sacramental presence
and for my Christian faith and my devotion to your Church
to everything you have I give myself to You without reservations;
give me food for the body and for the soul
allow me to enjoy with spiritual intensity this union
make me worthy to renew, fortify and deepen my love for you;
Thank you for this gift that you are about to give me, my Lord.

Prayer for after Communion

This prayer is to thank, adore and dialogue with Jesus Christ who has already come to us, we have accepted him as our desire has been, and he is now within us.

My Blessed Jesus Christ,
Now that I am with you in sacred union
I dare to meet you in privacy
because I am convinced that you have truly reached my soul and heart.

I hope you have found in me a faithful servant
and not a rambunctious, distracted and unaware soul
That’s why I promise you my Lord Jesus
forge my soul with catechesis to always find you
and not to sin again and be my sins forgiven.
Thank you, Jesus, today and at all times.

Prayer for spiritual communion

Practice this prayer as a gesture of spiritual communion with God when you feel the spiritual and Christian need and duty to receive communion.

Father God Almighty
I meditate Christianly in your presence
because I need you to find me soon
and cleanse me of all bad thoughts
and clear all gloom from my soul and heart;
I appeal to your infinite goodness so that you fill me with joy
of peace and tranquility
because there is no one like You, Eternal Father
let him know my works and my thoughts
and love me deeply;
grant me divine grace and bless me,
Amen

Prayer to receive Communion without going to Confession

It is possible through this prayer to ask God to find us and ask him to see our hearts and allow us to rediscover ourselves as the human and spiritual beings that we are.

One of the most important steps of the human being is the rediscovery that he makes of himself, because it usually happens that the human being wanders through life with total ignorance of his life, and this brings with it a series of consequences that generally end in the choice of bad decisions that change your life radically, and that is why Christ is the answer of your life.

Divine Jesus in the Sacrament
I come to you today
because you know my life better than myself
and I feel that I err in my ways and I need your guide
light up my heart and soul
so i can find myself
and avoid walking the wrong paths, hand in hand with false friends
and make decisions that do not please your eyes;
You, my Christ, are the answer to everything I need
I trust you completely and blindly as always,
so that your divine will be done
Amen

Prayer for when you can’t take communion

Even when you cannot receive communion, it is important to maintain the attitude of prayer at all times of the Eucharist. This is a prayer that will make up for communion.

Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, my redeemer and sovereign,
forgive my sins first
for I repent with a heavy heart;
although I regret not being able to take communion
I come to you with a firm spiritual tone
because I know how important and wonderful it is to receive you;
therefore guide me towards purity, humility and devotion
so that with care I can be worthy of You
for You, Jesus, through communion
you give us strength and meaning to our Christian life;
please listen to this humble christian servant
and don’t let anything separate us
Amen

Communion must be cared for and nurtured because it is an act of love and devotion in which we receive Christ as our Lord. Many people are not aware of this, which is why these prayers allow us to nourish the meaning of the beautiful act of receiving Communion.
