Communion
Contemplate Jesus who, giving you his Body, tells you: “take and eat, this is my Body”.
My God, make me always receive you with dignity.
What is communion? It is having the incomprehensible joy of receiving Jesus Christ really and substantially…
It is having the dignity of personally sheltering in our humble abode the Son of Mary Immaculate…
It is being rich with all the riches of the Son of God made man… owning his body, soul, divinity and infinite merits…
It is to unite, with the most intimate union, our heart with the Heart of Christ to divinize it with this sacred contact…
What a joy it is to receive Communion with dignity!
How do you prepare to receive the God of your Heart, and the Heart of your God?… Do you adorn your heart with affections of humility and trust… with acts of virtues of faith, hope and charity?…
… Do you run away and carefully avoid the slightest defects and imperfections?…
Do you have a spiritual hunger to receive Jesus?… Do you yearn to unite your heart with that of Jesus to transform yourself into Him?…
Do you meditate on who Jesus is… why he comes to your soul… what does he demand of you… what should you offer him?…
Jesus, I believe that you are in the Sacrament of the altar. I love you, I adore you, and I really want to receive you. Let me know who I am and who you are, to receive you with dignity.
What do you do after communing?
Do you worship God? … Do you thank him?… Do you ask for favors? … Do you offer him what you are and are worth?… What is the first greeting you address to God?…
Close the eyes of the body so that external things do not distract you.
Do you call upon all your senses and powers so that they pay homage and offer themselves to the service of the One who created them?…
What do you do… what do you say… what do you think… what do you want?…
Do not miss such an opportune moment, because in an instant, if you know how to negotiate well with Jesus, you can become rich with all the riches of God…
What time to deserve! One communion is enough to make you holy…
Look at Jesus in your heart as King on his throne, who with hands full of graces tells you with love: What do you want me to do for you?… I have come to you to make you happy, compassionate of your miseries… Ask, ask for whatever you need, I will give you everything… I have given myself: how can I deny you my things?
I will receive Communion often, preparing myself with great fervor beforehand, and then giving thanks for at least a quarter of an hour.
