Costa Rica: National Day of Prayer for Covid-19 patients proposed

.- The health crisis that Costa Rica is going through as a result of Covid-19 has led the deputies of the New Republic party in Costa Rica to present a motion so that all the inhabitants without distinction of creed unite in prayer this Sunday, April 30. May asking for the people who are going through the Covid-19 disease.

In addition, the congressmen promote the motion for Congress to express its “solidarity with the civil servants who are attending the emergency.

Also, those in the public and private health sector, sick people and those who lost a loved one due to the pandemic.

“Call for all believers to unite in prayer for the country, in general, and for the health and economic situation in particular,” said the congressmen.

National Day of Prayer

The motion also aims to declare May 30 of the current year as a national day of union and prayer for Costa Rica, particularly for the physical, psychological and economic health of its inhabitants.

In the same way, urge all people who exercise a particular faith or belief, to join this national call.

Also, so that they can organize themselves with their family bubbles and prepare for prayer during this date.

The proposal was signed by deputies from other political parties. The congressmen promoted this motion, taking into account that freedom of conscience and religion is a right enshrined in international Human Rights treaties.

The Costa Rican Ministry of Health confirmed 2,587 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, bringing the total number of cases to 299,219.

Of the registered cases, 2,103 were diagnosed by test and 484 by link.

The average number of new cases for the last seven days is 2,354 and is down -33 compared to yesterday’s weekly average.

Confirmed cases are registered in 82 cantons of the 7 provinces corresponding to 253,683 adults, 20,389 older adults and 25,032 minors.
