What is the “path”?

The message that Teresita wants to convey is that spirituality is simple and she calls it a “little path.” That is, she teaches us that God is everywhere, in every situation and every person and in the simple details of life. Her “little path” teaches us that we have to do the usual things in life with extraordinary love. A smile, a phone call, encouraging a person, suffering in silence, always having optimistic words and many other actions done with love. These are examples of her spirituality. The smallest action, done with love, is more important than great actions done for personal glory. Teresa invites us to join her spiritual childhood, that is, her “little path”.

Where does Santa Teresita get the nickname “La florecilla”?

Saint Therese liked nature very much and through it she explained that the Divine Presence was everywhere and that everything was related to the Love of God. Therese saw herself as the little flower of Jesus because she was like one of the many wild flowers that can be found in the field, that go unnoticed by people, but that grow giving glory to God. This is the way she explained herself to the Lord, but flourishing where God had planted her.

Teresa thought that she was like the smallest flower in the forest, surviving and blooming through all the seasons of the year. By the grace of God, she knew she was stronger than she appeared. Following the Carmelite tradition, Teresa saw the world as God’s garden, and each person as a different kind of flower.
