What is Diary?
The Daily de Santa Faustina Kowalska is written in the form of memoirs and was written mainly during the last four years of her life, that is, between 1934 and 1938.
Saint Faustina wrote the newspaper At the request of his spiritual mentor, Father Michael Sopocko, who is now blessed. In this work, he describes his andmystical experiences every day, transmitting not only the words of Jesus but also your requests.
Christ himself revealed to Sister Faustina the special mission to which he called her: to be the Secretary of his Divine Mercy. Jesus told him: ““Secretary of My deepest mystery, you must know that you are in exclusive confidence with Me; your mission is to write everything that I let you know about My mercy for the benefit of those who, reading these writings, will find consolation in their souls and will acquire the courage to approach Me. So, I want you to dedicate all your free moments to writing” (Diary, 1693)
mystical experiences
In its Daily, Sister Faustina wrote down her experiences and the extraordinary graces received from heaven. Her journal reveals to us the depth of her spiritual life and the profound union of her soul with God.
In fact, Jesus granted many graces to this humble Polish nun. Sister Faustina had the gift of contemplation, the gift of profound knowledge of the mystery of Divine Mercy, and she had several visions Y revelations divine. To all this is added the invisible stigmata, the gift of prophecy, the gift of interpretation of souls, the gift of bilocation and the gift of mystical weddings, which is rare. With regard to this last gift, Jesus himself asked for his soul in marriage, and the marriage between the soul and her spouse, Christ, was mystically celebrated. Since then the chosen soul is like the bride of Jesus; this is a very strong sign of the union that exists between the chosen soul and its Lord.
Through their mystical experiences, Saint Faustina received many revelations that she transmitted to the whole world. She especially revealed the sources of these graces, which are, for example, the devotion to the Divine Mercy or the veneration of the image of the Merciful Jesus.
The words of Jesus
In its DailySister Faustina insists particularly on divine inspirations and teachings. In fact, these are teachings given by Jesus those that give so much richness to the work, because in it you can read the words of the Savior addressed to the world, to each one in particular.
In order for us to get an idea of the content of the Dailyhere are some ticketsvery full of light.
The burning love of God for man:
“My Heart is filled with great mercy for souls and especially for poor sinners. Oh, if they could understand that I am the best Father for them, that Blood and Water have sprouted from My Heart as from an overflowing fountain of mercy; for them I live in the tabernacle; as King of Mercy I want to fill souls with graces, but they do not want to accept them (…) Oh, how great is the indifference of souls for so much goodness, for so many proofs of love (…) They have time for everything, only they do not have time to come to Me to receive graces” (Diary, 367).
The value of love:
“O Jesus, you make me know and understand what the greatness of the soul consists of: not in great actions, but in great love. It is love that has value and it confers greatness on our actions; Although our actions are small and common in themselves, as a result of love they will become great and powerful before God thanks to love ” (Diary, 889).
The value of humility:
“Over a humble soul the heavenly floodgates are ajar and a sea of graces flows over it (…) To such a soul God does not deny anything; such a soul is omnipotent, it influences the fate of the whole world; God raises such a soul to her throne and the more she humbles herself, the more God leans towards her, pursues her with her grace and accompanies her at every moment with her omnipotence.” (Diary, 1306).
Saint Faustina addresses Jesus:
“Oh Jesus, my most perfect model, with my eyes fixed on You, I will go through life following Your footsteps, adjusting nature to grace according to Your most holy will and the light that illuminates My soul, fully trusting in Your help” (Diary, 1351).
