Do children automatically go to heaven when they die?

NOTCIACRISTIANA.COM.- The question of what happens to children when they die has multiple answers, even within the Christian religion.

Pastor Sugel Michelén expressed in a video that within evangelicals there are three positions that try to define where children go when they die.

Michelén explains that some Christians believe that God chooses the souls that are saved before they are born, so only the chosen children will go to heaven.

The pastor indicated that the majority thought of Christian leaders is that all children go to heaven; and finally, there are other Christians who say that the Bible is not clear on this point.

“I tend to say that the word of God is not clear on this subject. My tendency is to believe that the child who dies in infancy goes to the presence of the Lord,” Sugel said.

John MacArthur assures that a baby that dies goes directly to heaven, since babies are supervised and cared for by God and their saving nature would choose that they be saved.

For his part, John Piper also ensures that children who die go to heaven and bases his position on Romans 1 when Paul argues that some will not find salvation because they know God and do not honor or give him glory, however, children they do not have access to this knowledge.

Pastor Manuel Jesús López says that in Matthew chapter 19, in verses 13 and 14, he tells how some parents try to get Jesus to lay hands on their children, causing the disciples annoyance, but Jesus calls the disciples’ attention and He tells them: “Let the children come to me because theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

On the other hand, the preacher assures that children are not going to go through the final judgment because they are not aware of sin, he added that infants die, because the Lord seeks them to free them from the pain that they may experience in the future.
