DO NOT JUDGE

DO NOT JUDGE

DO NOT JUDGE

He wanted his children to learn not to judge hastily. Therefore, throughout the year, he ordered each of them to travel to a distant town, where there was a pear tree planted.

After the last son returned, the man gathered them together and asked each one to describe what they had seen.

The first said that the tree was ugly and twisted.

The second son disagreed, pointing out that the tree had green leaves and was covered in beautiful flowers so sweet-smelling that he would venture to say they were the most graceful flowers he had ever seen.

The third son argued that they were confused, since the tree was full of golden, beautiful and tasty fruits. The tree was so laden with fruit that it was arched and full of life.

The last son disagreed with the others, saying that the tree did not have flowers or fruits, although it did have colorful leaves with the most beautiful shades of red and gold.

The man explained to his sons that they were all right, for each had seen the tree in a different season. He added that you cannot judge a tree or a person by only one season.

Life can only be quantified at the end, when all the seasons are completed. Who gives up before winter, loses the delights of the other seasons.
