Bogotá celebrated the World Day of Prayer this Sunday, June 4, in the Plaza de Bolívar. This date was designated by the World Prayer Council, the Latin American Prayer Council (CLAMOR) and the Evangelical Council of Colombia (CEDECOL).
The organization was in charge of the Christian Crusade Church, central region. The event was attended by a considerable number of believers who almost filled half the square. The ministers of the Crusade organized the concentration in three sections that they distributed in the colors, yellow, blue and red, wanting to symbolize the Colombian flag.
Since this is one of the four united annual dates of the Church in Colombia, established by CEDECOL, some leaders of the Christian churches participated in the event, highlighting the leaders of the Crusade Antonio Cortés, Fabio Alonso and Silvio Barahona. The president of CEDECOL Roosevelt Muriel was also present.
During Muriel’s intervention, he highlighted the importance of prayer and referred to his experience in the city of Cali, where a series of vigils began that resulted in the unity of the church. These vigils were widely known in different countries.
The President of CEDECOL called for the unity of the church and asked all the believers in Colombia to pray for its leadership. He said that “nothing in Colombia needs more prayer than the leaders of the churches in Colombia.” It should be noted that several Christian organizations held this Sunday meetings in arenas, parks, churches in order to see and maintain unity.
