Three hooded men violently broke into the New Gethsemane Church of God in Christ evangelical church, shooting at approximately 100 people, of whom two young people aged 14 and 19 were wounded.
The incident occurred in San Francisco Bay and according to the Police, the criminals searched the church pews looking for someone before firing about five shots at 12:30 pm, said Sgt. Bisa French, of the San Francisco Police. Richmond.
Church deacon Charles Millar, 64, said congregation members were about to tell the men to uncover their heads when shooting suddenly began.
“I was listening to the choir and suddenly the shooting was heard, everyone fell to the ground. At first I didn’t know if the shooting was inside the church, until I heard all the screaming,” Millar said.
The 14-year-old was injured in one of his shoulders while the 19-year-old sustained a leg injury, Officer French said. Both victims were hospitalized but their names have not been released.
Police deduce that the bandits were looking for someone in the church, but they don’t know if the two injured were the ones they wanted to kill, French explained. All three men fled and no suspects have been arrested.
