Exhibition ridicules Christian symbols in legislative assembly

– This Monday (19), the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais (ALMG), dismantled an exhibitionin its cultural space, in which it is observed, works considered aggressive to the Christian faith.

Inaugurated on September 5, the works are by the plastic artist Carlos Barroso, who called for censorship action, informs Guiame.com.

According to the state representative, Carlos Henrique, who is a pastor and member of the ALMG Board of Directors, the exhibition it damages the faith of others.

“What is happening here, in this cultural space of the Assembly, It is a crime based on the article of the Penal Code: denigrate the cult objects of religion”, says the parliamentarian, while pointing to some of the works.

Here, for example, we have inverted toilet papers, upside down, with the symbol of the cross, showing that the author is the Antichrist. Here we have the human mind dominated with a halter, as if people were not free to think.

“Attack on Faith”

In addition, he points out that a press used by priests, and bishops on women’s underwear: “It is a gratuitous attack on the faith of Catholics, with a sacred object used by priests and bishops.”

And he adds, “we also have a cross herewith a tape measure, an attack on tithing, and an attack on sacrament”.

For his part, the councilor Nikolas Ferreira, and the deputy Bruno Engler, were also there to repudiate the exhibition.

“It is incredible how these people from the left, has no scruples”, said the parliamentarian.

Nikolas took to his Instagram, where he posted some photos, after declaring that the show was vilifying symbols of the Christian faith, such as the swastika-shaped crown of thorns.

“Whatever we do to defend our faith, we are wrong,” Nikolas declared. In the caption, after the demobilization of the show, he wrote: “!We won! Respect Christians.”

The artist responsible for the exhibition denied having any intention of attacking the faith or religious orientation of others, and says he is a victim of hate speech from right-wing extremists, and a defender of all religions.
