CHRISTIANNOTICE.COM.- Facebook restored access to some Christian pages on its platform, which were removed for allegedly trying to change people’s sexual and gender identity.
According to the page leader Help 4 FamiliesFacebook, removed it in conjunction with its sister page Living Stone Ministries.
The goal of these pages is to help individuals and families live according to a Christian sexual ethic.
Denise Shick, director of Help 4 Families Y Living Stone Ministriessaid the removal of the pages came after the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism released a report that compiled a list of groups and organizations that minister to and counsel people struggling with unwanted sexual attractions or gender confusion. .
According to the director, GPAHE is pressuring Facebook to exclude Christian pages from its platform.
Shick, however, claimed that GPAHE flagged two Christian sites as safe places for gays and transgender people.
According to a GPAHE report, Christian groups are dedicated to promoting “conversion therapy”, which has been strongly criticized by the United Nations.
“If we’re offering ‘safe places’ for ‘open sharing,’ how is that hateful or extremist?” she asked. “We provide opportunities for people to share their struggles without condemnation. That is the definition of love and acceptance.”
The social media giant no longer believes in the right to free speech without censorship, Shick said.
Shik further stated that for 200 years Americans had the right to think differently about different beliefs, and said that this has changed because of LGBT efforts.
