– An 18-year-old former student of the Municipal School in Eber Louzada, in Vitória (Brazil), was arrested after an attempted invasion, for an alleged massacrewhich, according to witnesses, the young man carried in his backpack, various weapons.
Police said the young man was wearing knives, homemade bombs, three crossbows, bow-like weapons, and arrows; as well as ammunition, and a Molotov cocktail, reported G1.
School security said the suspect, dressed in black, tried to enter through the front doorbut was stopped, and then jumped, into a school wall.
According to the G1 news site, he managed to enter one of the rooms, even, shot arrows at some children, and a teacher, but he didn’t get it right. Students from other rooms of the school made barricades with desks to prevent their entry.

The young man jumped over the outer wall of the school to try to get the backpack with the bombs out, but he noticed that there was a great movement of people, and he went back into the unit.
It was at that moment that Henrique Lira Trad was detained by the military and agents of the Municipal Guard. When asked about his intentions, he replied: “I wanted to scare a lot of people.”
Testimony of a mother
“It was God who saved my son,” said the mother of a 10-year-old boy, who is studying in secondary school. She says that she was desperate when she received the audio.
“It was around 2:40 p.m., when I was at work, and I received audio from my son. He was yelling a lot, saying that he was having a seizure at school, that there was a man with a gun, and that he was trying to kill everyone,” he reported.
On August 20, the former student went through a custody hearing, and was referred to a psychiatric hospitalfor its due evaluation.
