.- The singer of Hillsong, Taya Smith, now faces a new stage as a soloist in which she claims to be fully trusting in God.
The singer, who comes from the controversial Hillsong, saw how her first single was released the same day that the general pastor of this ministry, Brian Houston, resigned from his position.
“It’s crazy when I think about the timing of all of this, which again, it’s not my timing, it’s pretty wild that my first single came out on the same day that some crazy news comes out too, that’s heartbreaking,” she said.
He continued, “But at the same time, maybe it’s a gift because this other song is a song about faith and about stepping forward and not relying on your own understanding, but leaning on God’s understanding.”
“Knowing that He will make your paths straight if you keep doing all that is said in the previous verse, lean not on your own understanding, but acknowledge Him in all your ways and trust in Him. So it has been, on a good walk with the Lord , a time of self-reflection,” he said.

Hillsong Church’s image has been severely affected; first, for the public knowledge of the infidelities of Pastor Carl Lentz; also, for cases of abusive leadership, waste of money and sexual misconduct within some of these churches.
Recently, Pastor Brian Houston resigned from the general leadership of Hillsong, due to internal investigations that revealed misconduct towards two women.
In the wake of all that is happening at Hillsong, Smith said she is grateful for the wisdom she can find in the Bible.
“So we have the promise of a Savior and a Heavenly Father and a Holy Ghost, who directs and guides, and is an ever-present help in times of trouble,” he said.
The singer also stated: “The crazy thing is that we have been praying as a church for a revival; We have been praying for a fresh wind. I think God answered prayer, but not in the way we expected. With the revival, he is removing all the blocks so we can see him. This is my greatest wish.
