CHRISTIANNEWS.COM. – An evangelical pastor was arrested this Friday by authorities of the National Police in Honduras, accused of the crime of sexual abuse, reported the newspaper El País.
According to preliminary investigations, the events occurred in the Candelaria village in the municipality of Arada, Santa Bárbara, in western Honduras.
The priest, identified as 66-year-old Gregorio Domínguez, is originally from the municipality of Yamaranguila in the department of Intibucà and lives in the village of Candelaria.
Abuses since 2017
The investigations indicate that the defendant is responsible for crimes of acts of lust, aggravated to the detriment of his granddaughter, a 13-year-old adolescent.
The arrest warrant was executed by the Police Investigations Directorate (DPI).
The file reflects that the abuses against the minor date back to 2017, but it was not until this week that evidence could be gathered and her arrest started.
The first complaint was initially received by a very close relative of the victim to whom she confessed that her grandfather sexually abused her.
In the next few hours, the religious will be placed at the order of the competent judicial authority to start the trial against him and the compilation of interviews.
