Is it a sin for women to wear pants?

.- The Christian churches have different points of view on the use of women’s pants.

More and more women are wearing pants instead of skirts, however, their use is prohibited in some churches such as Pentecostals, Assemblies of God and the Church of God, although this may vary depending on the congregation.

Some people are often surprised that women are prohibited from wearing pants, since the vast majority commonly wear them, but what is the biblical justification for it? The answer is in Deuteronomy 22:5 and Timothy 2:9-10.

Deuteronomy 22:5 says: “A woman shall not wear a man’s clothing, nor shall a man wear women’s clothing; For anyone who does this is an abomination to the LORD your God.”

In the 1950s, pants were considered a piece of men’s clothing, however, today they are no longer.

It must be taken into account that the Bible adapts to the time in which it is read. When Moses wrote this law, pants did not exist, therefore, to say that pants are a garment that the Bible designates as masculine is not true. In fact, the Bible does not say which pieces are male or female, reports Adventist.News.

The journalist Leandro Cuadros exemplifies it this way: “In Scotland, for example, the custom for men is to wear a skirt. Could it be that God will stop loving and saving the Scots because of this? No way. Such clothing is part of their culture.

However, there is another justification that some Christians use to prohibit women from wearing pants, and it is in Timothy 2:9-10.

Timothy 2:9-10 says: “In the same way that women dress themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and modesty; not with ostentatious hairstyle, nor gold, nor pearls, nor expensive clothes, but with good works, as befits women who profess piety “.

Many women’s pants are made to highlight intimate parts of a woman’s body. In fact, there are many women who buy tight pants to highlight their figure.

However, not all women’s pants are the same or are intended to attract attention. In fact, sometimes the sexualization of clothing responds to those who look at it and not to whoever puts it on.

The Bible tells us that it will always be important for women to dress with decorum and feminine clothing. In addition, it is always good that when in doubt women use their judgment asking themselves: “What would God say about my outfit?”
