Beginning of the Gospel of John
“In the beginning there was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
In the beginning he was with God.
All things were made through the Word and without it nothing was made of everything that exists.
In her was life, and life was the light of men. The light shines on darkness, and the darkness did not perceive it” (John 1:1-5).
-Version: the Book of the People of God.
Who is the Word of God?
In some translations of the Bible, the term “Word” is translated as Word: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. In the beginning I was with God.” (version: the Book of the People of God).
Let us bear in mind that the Word became flesh through Jesus, the Word of God, and this allows us to contemplate a living and creative dimension of the Word of God (as the story of Genesis 1 reminds us).
In addition, this verse introduces us to the mystery of the Trinity, allowing us to see Jesus as someone who is close to God, that is, as a different person, but who remains God himself.
