5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not perceive it.
6 There appeared a man sent by God, whose name was John.
7 He came as a witness, to bear witness to the light, so that through him all might believe.

Jesus, light of the world
In this magnificent prologue, Saint John mentions John the Baptist to tell us about Jesus. In fact, the forerunner of Christ came to bear witness to the light, because his mission consisted of taking people out of darkness and blindness, to lead them towards the light of faith. In this way, it can be said that John the Baptist was a “lamp” (John 5:35), and Jesus is the radiant Light, similar to the sun, that shines on all the world. Let us note that although nothing can stop the Light of Christ, which shines on all people, some do not want to accept the light, but prefer to stay in the dark. In this way, it can be said that the Light shines for the salvation of those who receive it.
On the other hand, Jesus insisted several times on this great attribute, for example, in chapter 8 of the book of John, when he said: “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12).
With , let us ask that Christ illuminate us with his Light
Jesus is the Light that nothing and no one can stopthat’s why we invite you to go to Him to fully receive his gifts and graces.
