CHRISTIANNOTICE.COM.- Through a video published on his Facebook page, Pastor Juan Manuel Vaz assured that biblically, marriage between cousins is not a sin.
To reaffirm his thinking, Vaz used the biblical text Leviticus 18:7-18. You will not discover your father’s nakedness, or your mother’s nakedness. She is your mother, you will not discover her nakedness. You will not discover the nakedness of your father’s wife; she is the nakedness of your father », says the Word. (See video here).
Then, the pastor continued reading the entire biblical text and nowhere does it mention that the relationship between cousins is a sin. For this reason, he affirmed that: «He does not speak of cousins, therefore, biblically, marriage between cousins is not a sin. In the text you see all the relationships that are sinful, but it does not say anything about the cousins».
Likewise, he added that: “The list is specific, so is marriage between cousins a sin? The Bible doesn’t say that’s a sin.”
Finally, the pastor warned about the possible consequences of having children between cousins. “When you have children between people of the same kinship, there is a higher risk of diseases in the children, but it is not a biblical sin,” Vaz concluded.
