CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- A child rights activist denounced the ruling of a California judge that allowed three men to appear as legal fathers of two children born to surrogate mothers.
The “group” of gay men includes Ian Jenkins, Alan Mayfield, and Jeremy Allen Hodges. The three-gay relationship happened after Jenkins and Mayfield, who met nine years ago, invited Hodges to join the couple eight years ago.
The two boys belonging to the male trio are half-brothers. Jenkins wrote a memoir about the couple’s unorthodox relationship in the book Three Dads and a Baby .
Last week, the three men, who are now the legal fathers of two children, a 3-year-old boy and a 14-month-old boy, appeared on » The Morning Show » in Australia to discuss this unusual arrangement and how they received a favorable outcome in court.
“We weren’t sure if we could have all three of us on the birth certificate, so it became a legal process,” Mayfield said during the interview.

“It was quite an interesting and tense court scene where at first it seemed like they weren’t going to grant us that and we asked to speak in court and defend our point of view, and the judge eventually changed her mind and granted us legal parentage. for our child before she was born.”
Katy Faust, founder of the children’s rights organization Them Before Us, and author of a recent book of the same name, noted in an interview that much of the media frames its coverage of these adult men as victims of a system that does not facilitated the acquisition of someone else’s children.
“Until we recognize that children have a natural and fundamental right to be known and loved by both their mother and father, wilder variations of the modern family can be expected, as children become the acceptable sacrifice in the pyre of adult wishes,” the Christian Post reported.
