CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- An investigative report found that children are using fake IDs to post sexual photos and videos on Onlyfans, a platform for adults.
Users must verify that they are of legal age to post content on OnlyFans. They have to pose next to an ID card and then submit a photo holding it up to their face. However, some children as young as 13 have cheated the platform’s age verification process, the BBC reports.
Research on OnlyFans says that the platform has about 120 million users. Where a 17-year-old girl in England was found to be using the platform to sell sexually explicit videos of herself, earning her around $7,000.
Another Nevada teen said he was only 17 when he started uploading explicit videos of himself and his girlfriend.
But many of the users were much younger. A 16-year-old girl at a London school was bragging about the amount of money she made from OnlyFans. She later confessed that she had been posting highly sexualized and pornographic images.
Another girl claimed that she has been on OnlyFans since she was 13 years old. “I don’t want to talk about the types of images I post there, and I know it’s not appropriate for kids my age to do this, but it’s an easy way to make money,” she said.
Another 14-year-old girl was able to open an account on the platform, using her grandmother’s passport and bank account information. She then began selling explicit images of herself.

A representative for the platform claimed that users must be at least 18 years old to access the platform, saying they have “a team that manually reviews each process.”
“Third-party vendors are used to verify the authenticity and integrity of uploaded IDs and photos,” the representative said.
“The results generated by the software are reviewed along with a manual verification of the ID provided by the applicant, photo with ID in hand, home address, linked social media accounts, linked email addresses, and the information added by the applicant in their avatar, header, and bio.”
If all those applications are approved, the applicant can start using OnlyFans.
