CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- In an interview, former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva tried to blame the President of Ukraine, Volodímir Zelensky, for the atrocities committed in his country.
Lula said that Zelensky is as responsible as the Russian Vladimir Putin for the war in his country. Ignoring the suffering of the Ukrainian people, he tries to resist the onslaught of a warlike power against his territory.
He also claimed that the US and the European Union fueled the conflict and harshly criticized the UN, which, according to him, “no longer represents anything” and “is not taken seriously by the rulers”, reports Gospel Prime.
In the interview, which was granted at the end of March and published this Wednesday, Lula tried to blame Zelensky for the lack of negotiation, which allegedly turned the conflict into a show.
“I keep watching the President of Ukraine on TV like he’s partying, getting a standing ovation from every parliament, you know? This guy is as responsible as Putin. He is just as responsible as Putin. Because in a war there is no single culprit, ”he explained.
While he says that Putin should not have invaded Ukraine, he blames the United States, the European Union and NATO.
“Putin should not have invaded Ukraine. But it is not just Putin who is to blame, the United States is to blame and the European Union is to blame,” he noted.
Finally, he added: “What is the reason for the invasion of Ukraine? Is it NATO? The United States and Europe could have said: ‘Ukraine will not join NATO.’ The problem would be solved, ”he concluded.
