The procession had been filmed for reasons of the pandemic. This religious event celebrated 400 years since its inception and a tour of the popular areas of Seville was intended.
The faithful Catholic Ignacio Fernández Barrionuevo-Pereña was responsible for taking the photograph to which the users of the networks placed the name: “The face of the Lord”.
The author of the photo declared to ICA press: «The day of the procession I left at 7 in the morning to take a place, because the procession left at 9 am. I got there early because it was worth it. When the Lord came out in the whole square, which was full of people, there was silence. When the Lord passed by where I was, I took some photos with my mobile, I didn’t take the camera because I was lazy. Then I uploaded them to my Instagram and Facebook account, signed, because there are those who take the photos without permission. And then I went to work.”
The man told a friend that he had not retouched the photo with photo editing programs.
Likewise, he assures that God has many ways of manifesting himself and considers that this could be one way.
