. – Iconic actor and retired wrestler Mr Tknown as the character of Mario Baracus in The Magnificent seriesdelivered a heartfelt message in celebration of the 4th of July, expressing gratitude for America and reminding his fellow citizens to join in prayer.
“Happy birthday America and happy Independence Day! The land of the free and the home of the brave. The red, the white and the blue. In God We Trust!” wrote in Twitter.
mario baracus, whose birth name is Lawrence Tureaud, added: “We the people; Together we stand, divided we fall! Black and white together, one day we will win! The Nation that prays together, stays together!”
The interpreter also sent a third tweet expressing his love for the United States and his gratitude for being an American citizen.
the praise Mr T on social media for the United States came at the same time as other celebrities criticized the United States and its perceived disenfranchisement following the US Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that legalized abortion across the country.
From actors and singers to TV hosts and commentators, some celebrities issued harsh rebukes.
Katy Perri strong criticism
Pop star Katy Perry, who grew up in a Christian home before entering the secular music arena, accused in a Twitter post that women in America “have fewer rights than a royal sparkler,” referencing her song “Firework” in the message.
Other celebrities joined in with similar messages. Singer and actress Bette Midler shared a meme proclaiming that Independence Day has been canceled due to an alleged lack of women’s rights.
“The 4th of July has been canceled due to a shortage of Independencia. Sincerely, Women,” the image read.
“Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi went even further and proclaimed that there is nothing to celebrate on the 4th of July.
“There is not much to celebrate this 4, I’m afraid. Let’s hope everyone can stay safe and peaceful today and that our nation will soon walk away from this precipice.” he tweeted.
“Whatever happens, we will continue to fight for the day when all humans have the same rights, at least to their own person and body, have privacy to make their own decisions and love those they love and live in peace.”
She then shared a photo of a red, white and blue cake that included the words “Separate Church and State.”
These reactions, which are tied to the overthrow of Roe, were no doubt balanced quite fervently by millions of Americans, such as Mr T, who shared supportive statements of hope and gratitude to honor the nation and to pay tribute to the sacrifices so many have made. Made to protect and serve the USA.
