CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg spoke in an interview about his upcoming film, “Father Stu”, his faith and his views on cancel culture.
Wahlberg will star in a movie about a former athlete turned priest, the late, Stuart Long. The film, which is a team-up with “Passion of the Christ” director Mel Gibson, will open on Good Friday, April 15, Christianity Daily reports.
In the interview, the actor revealed that the film took six years to make. “It’s probably the most unpredictable movie ever. I mean, obviously, we told you he was a fighter, he tried to become an actor, and then he became a priest. But it’s so different from that,” he said.
He then noted, “God has continued to bless me and put me in the position, you know, not to continue to grow and work on Mark Wahlberg, the person, but to do His job and give me the skills and the tools to go out and articulate the message that He wants,” Wahlberg shared.
In addition to the film, Wahlberg also revealed that it’s not his place to “judge” others on the subject of cancel culture. Him saying that people are quick to judge others and write them off for making a single mistake.
Wahlberg claimed that everyone makes a mistake. Personally, he admits to making a lot of mistakes, so he began to change his life at the age of 16. He stated that he strives every day to straighten out his life and expressed the hope that when the time for “judgment” comes, he will “pass” and “get going.”
