.- Rubén Castro, one of the first pregnant trans men in Spain, announced that he gave birth to his baby, whom he named Luar, of whom he shared a photograph on his social networks.
After documenting the progress of his pregnancy in networks, Rubén was moved by the birth of his son.
«Forgive the silence, the absence and not answering your messages, I was welcoming this beauty that I have as a daughter into the world. He finally decided that May 1 was a good day to go out,” she said.
The pregnancy of this 27-year-old transgender man from Madrid has had a great media impact in recent months, since it was the first case that has been made visible in Spain.
First case
Rubén’s case is the first known in Spain, and one of the few so far in the European continent, of a trans man giving birth. Before starting his hormone treatment, he froze his eggs.
Later, as a transsexual man, Rubén went to specialists who helped him perform artificial insemination.
However, he commented that these were probably the “easiest” steps in this entire process, since along the way he faced criticism and attacks from people, and bureaucratic procedures.
Castro, in an interview with the Viva la vida program, explained the situation in which people like him find themselves, parents who could give birth to their children, but find impediments due to a system that does not protect them.
So the young man documented his entire pregnancy on Instagram with the aim that people would have more knowledge about the possibility of being a transsexual father.
Despite everything he had to face, the 27-year-old maintains that this is the most beautiful experience of his life and that he fulfilled what he wanted since he was a child.
“People have a hard time understanding it, fitting it in, they believe that trans people hate our bodies, each one lives their transition as they want and, in my case, this was first, before making the body change,” he confessed.
