CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- In Chin, Burma, new attacks on Christian churches by the country’s Army were reported, reports the International Christian Concern.
The Burmese Army attacked the Christian church of Saint Michael and its convent in the town of Kanpalet.
The Army fired heavy weapons at the religious sites, forcing the Christians to flee.
The next day, the army soldiers returned and stole medical supplies, rice sacks, valuables, a computer and cash worth 50 lakhs (US$4,800), reports The Chindwin.
A religious leader from Kanpalet indicated that the army has attacked most of the Christian churches there.
On the other hand, the Emmanuel Baptist Church was also looted by the Army, indicated a religious faithful.
One of the strongest points of the resistance is located in Chin, which has given rise to multiple clashes in the region.
Chin is also the town with the most Christians in Myanmar. It is estimated that more than 90% of its inhabitants profess Christianity.
Since the military junta took over the government in Burma by force, an increased number of attacks against Christians in the country have been reported.
