Nine days with Saint Mary Magdalene

Start these 9 days of prayer with Saint Mary Magdalene at any time.

In this novena, a nine-day reflection, you are invited to walk with Mary Magdalene.

Let her share with you the spiritual assets and treasures she discovered on her journey of becoming a missionary disciple. Her journey reminds us of a fundamental truth: we were created by love and for love. We carry this vocation in clay pots. The inherent desire to love implies freedom to do so, but you need a compass or guide.

Mary Magdalene probably tasted the depths of freedomone type of freedom led her to a certain spiritual death and the other led her to a new life. A wrong use of freedom bound her with “seven demons”. Maybe we can all relate somehow, by recognizing the subtle idols that quench the life of God within us. But the good news is that Jesus gets into the mess of our lives. We have Mary Magdalene as a witness to this good news. As he did with Mary Magdalene, Jesus approaches, takes us by the hand and invites us to a newer and deeper freedom, a freedom lived according to our dignity, made in the image of God.

What will you receive each day of the novena?

A Gospel passagea reflection that invites us to live this passage together with Mary Magdalene and a final petition prayer.
