CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- Olivier Giroud recently revealed that his religious motivations helped him choose his current team, AC Milan, according to statements to “La Stampa” magazine.
The French striker arrived at the “rossonero” team in July last year.
“Faith is my engine. It helps me with important decisions. I was close to Inter, but then I realized that Milan would be in my destiny”, expressed the player. He also added that “faith is the most beautiful thing in life”
The player revealed that Juventus was among his options: “It was in the summer of 2020, when Pirlo was the coach. But I preferred to stay at Chelsea with whom I later won the Champions League. For Juventus I was one of the many options, not the only one”.
Likewise, the player spoke about his faith: “I am an evangelical Christian, but I have not yet gone to mass in Milan because, with this COVID-19 thing, it is better to avoid crowded places. But every week I have a remote meeting with my pastor in London. We study the Bible. For me it is fresh air, ”he points out.
The player commented in the interview on some aspects that he likes about Italian culture: “I really like tiramisu. My grandmother Antonia used to do it very well. And she the lasagna. My mom cooks it well.”
He continued: “But not just the food. It is wonderful to go to Milanello seeing the blue sky. It reminds me of Montpellier and my Savoy. Chambery and Grenoble, where I was born and raised”.
