Pastor captivates with his singing talent on The Voice

CHRISTIANNEWS.COM.- The 41-year-old singer and pastor Todd Tilghman auditioned in The Voice contest and was accepted by all the juries of the competition.

The Meridian Mississippi pastor received rave reviews on The Voice after singing for the jury. John Legend told him; “I need to know more about you” after hearing it.

The pastor, in response to the request about who he is, commented “The most important thing is that I have been married for 21 years to my beautiful wife Brooke and we have 8 children, 2 adopted,” Tilghman replied, surprising the public.

Legend told him that he was the last to approve it, however, he barely did, detailing how the pastor enjoyed his own interpretation.

Todd Tilghman stated that he had never had performances outside of church, he explained that he only sings in church because he is a pastor.

Taking talent further

John Legend tried to convince the pastor to join his team and expand his talent and to do so he confessed that his grandfather was a pastor and his mother was a choir director and he, despite the fact that his talent is not only offered to God, the singer told him that he has often gone to church.

He also told him that he is a children’s pastor and that he has great memories singing praise songs with his father.

For his part, the other jury, Nick Jonas, asked the singer if he knew Phillips, Craig and Dean, when the pastor replied that he did, he began to sing “Mercy Came Running” and the participant joined in singing. This action drew applause.

On the show, jurors John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas and Blake Shelton tried to convince the pastor to be part of their team in the competition, but he decided on Blake.
