Pastor denies the existence of limbo and purgatory

.- Users of social networks have made an old video of Pastor Bullón go viral, who denies the existence of limbo and purgatory.

The pastor said in an interview that the Bible indicates that when man dies “it’s over” and they will only have two options: hell or heaven.

Bullón explained that heaven is for people who accepted the Lord, while those who denied him will descend to hell.

In the middle of the interview, the pastor was asked: Why in Luke 23:43 did Jesus promise the repentant criminal that the same day they would be in paradise?

“Then Jesus said to him: Verily I tell you that today you will be with me in paradise,” says the verse Luke 23:43.

The pastor assured that this is due to a translation error from Greek to Spanish, where Jesus affirms that the promise is being made on the day of his death and he only promised paradise without specifying time.

According to the pastor, the text should have been translated as follows: “Then Jesus said to him: Verily I tell you today, that you will be with me in paradise.”

Bullón confirmed his argument by quoting Saint John 20: 16-17, where Jesus did not speak of going to heaven immediately, since on the third day he had not ascended to heaven.

Saint John 20: 16-17 says: “Jesus said to her: Mary! Turning to her, he said to her: Rabboni! (which means, Master). Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them: I ascend to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.

Bullón explained that God indicates that when man dies, the body goes to earth and the breath returns to God.

The pastor was asked, before moving on to another biblical topic, how was it possible that the man did not go to heaven or hell immediately, if Jesus said so in the parable of the rich man and lazarus?

The pastor replied that the parables are not useful to take them literally as a doctrine, since they are based on illustrations -many using incongruous themes that the people knew- to give a teaching.
