CHRISTIANNOTICE.COM.- On Thursday, Pastor Hugo Albornoz connected with his followers through the social network Facebook, and gave a message about salvation.
The pastor, who recently publicly rebuked Carlos Rivas for saying that Christians would not be saved from going through the Great Tribulation, said that baptism is not enough to save people.
The pastor reminded that salvation is by grace and not by works, so he denied that fasting, baptism and actions are enough to save a person.
Albornoz stated that to achieve salvation one only needs to have faith in the Lord.
“What if today, a person is in the hospital with a terminal illness and a Pentecostal arrives preaching the word of the Lord (…), and that person with tears, anointed from the heart, repents of their sins and surrenders to Jesus Christ ? The question for you is: Does God forgive you?” asked the pastor.
Albornoz said that biblically the person is forgiven by the Lord and is saved.
Then the pastor finished referring to the baptism: “So, we cannot put salvific properties on baptismthat is, I have to be baptized to be saved.”

The pastor also took the opportunity to refer to Carlos Rivas: “If you continue to teach wrong things (Carlos Rivas), I don’t think you will continue there, beloved brother. (…) You are not going to straighten him out either, because if the man is still there in that position of fighting, of quarreling, of hatred (…) he is not going to get you out of there”.
Likewise, Albornoz advised people to pray for Carlos Rivas and to keep their word.
“If he is determined to see the Antichrist and wants to see all the judgments to come, then he will…” the pastor said.
